Forged Cup

The Forged Cup Collection was created while “beating out” some frustrations I was having in my metals studio. I had an idea but I didn’t have the right tools to create it. I contacted my metal-smithing professors and mentors, Barbara Minor and Chris Hentz, and asked them if I could spend the day in their studio in Baton Rouge. Their studio contains an array of hammers and anvils among other amazing equipment. Using recycled metal, I forged out the ruffled edge cup and hammered surface that texture the back of the piece.
