The 2019 Hermes theme was Louis XIV court music.
The elements within the design are symbolic. Jean-Baptiste Lully was the composer during the King’s reign. A collage of his sheet music is set under the silver, convex lace which represents the court fashion. Lastly, the faceted blue stone represents the 68 carat “French Blue” diamond owned by Louis XIV and likely known today as the Hope Diamond.
